Trackmap rf29/5/2023 ![]() > Move d3d9.dll, TrackMapPlugin.ini from their original locations to rFactor2\Bin32 folder. > Keep the TrackMap folder in its original rFactor2\Plugins folder it should NOT be moved to the Bin32\plugins folder > Move TrackMapPlugin.dll from its original location to rFactor2\Bin32\Plugins folder. >Finally, if you are running rF2 in a 64bit OS, tick the check box next to "Use 32 bit executable on 64 bit capable operating systems" in the Advanced tab of the launcher. I followed the instructions contained therein and the launcher came up with the following message when I tried to start an off line session - Failed to launch rFactor. Ensure that rFactor2.exe is located in Core and this application is in the root of the install directory. To clear this I unchecked the Use 32 bit executable on 64 bit. In rF, you have to be the analyst, the tech, and the driver, and the crew chief.Īnd over an hour long league endurance race, I am not capable of noting how much fuel/tyres Ive used up each lap to determine when I'll need to pit and how much fuel to put in, each liter costs precious seconds.Have to select that in the launcher, and in 798 you kind of have to install it in 2 places to make it work (check the last couple of pages in the trackmap thread for instructions on how to install it." Cannot find anything about this, are you able to explain any further or point me to something that does? Jerry - you stated "Only works with the 32bit format. ![]() In real life, you have analysts watching this kind of data who tell the mechanic what the car needs, not every driver has an ass like Niki Lauda (not funny if you didnt watch the movie). Traction Meter - I use this to adjust to the optimum brake balanceĪlso, I prefer the tyre temp/life/damage display to any UI available, custom or otherwise. Suspension stats ride height/travel - this is very useful for fine tuning dampers/springs You can choose size/placement of each tile, which tiles to display, etc.įor me, the relevant data that isnt provided by any means other than the tablet I do not own are the following:įuel stats Fuel in tank(this is in rF UI, I know), amount used last lap, estimated remaining laps/time One day I do want to have a tab/pad to have apps like these, but currently its a luxury I cant afford. And Im not about to spend any kind of money to compensate what should be a part of the package. I also use an Android pad for DashMeterPro for the things RacePad lacks, I don't need any on-screen apps./QUOTE]įor me, its as youve mentioned, I have no tablet. out of curiousity, what "necessary" stuff does Trackmap offer that RacePad doesn't? In long run an external device seems like the better solution, other than the cost of the device ($60-$80 for used gen 1 iPad). I understand many depended on Trackmap but I never used as I didn't like messing up my cockpit view. S397 have done a great job so far since their takeover, I really hope that they continue on the right path. Although if they dont, and someone is capable of creating a real-time telemtry plugin(tyres, brakes and fuel) for the dx11 platform, I truly hope that they are able to share it. The thoughts that they might integrate with their new UI is most promising. So if anything were to happen in this respect, it's pretty much all on S397. I read on a different thread of this forum, that someone asked Fazerbox personally about an update, and he said that he handed over the source files to ISI/S397 a long time ago. ![]() Without TrackMap, I would have no chance. I race in an endurance league, and the strategy changes every lap. I could care less about the map itself, its all about the real-time telemetry. I know its all been said before, but another voice couldnt hurt the cause I will not even consider upgrading to dx11 until there is something that at least mimics this. and for whatever reason, I get terrible FPS in the garage unless I fullscreen the "monitor". Like previously stated here, replays are a slideshow. But the gfx upgrade - as stated before on this thread - does not justify the loss of this great plugin. And Fazer, if you ever read this, thank you immensely.ĭX11 is cool, no real difference in FPS for me settings max with gtx960 4gb. I have to throw my 2 cents in here and say that I agree that TrackMap is the most important plugin to ever exist(my opinion), and it remains to this date the only plugin Ive ever even downloaded.
